The Worst Christmas I Ever Recieved

Well, I wouldn't say it is the worst gift. I would say this gift was a redone gift which kind of was embarrassing. My aunt had gotten me a brand new video game and I had not told my mother. But through the year I was bugging my mom about the game that I had been wanting. She said she didn't have the money to buy so I was game less for good amount of the year. On Christmas Day though she had finally got me the game, I was so pleased and I played that game all day. I guess I had talked about wanting the game so much that my other relatives had also heard about me wanting the game that they also had bought me the game after I recieved the original. I didn't want to return the gift and look stubborn so I kept the game and now in case I lose my game I'll have three back ups.

Predicting and Uncertain Future for Will in Ranger's Apprentice Icebound Land

In "Ranger's Apprentice Icebound Land" by John Flanagan I predict that will begin to have on and off moments from addiction to warmweed, the reason why is because in one sudden moment he wakes up from a nap remembering everything with no side effects. It really bothers me because it felt sped up and it seemed like he just wanted to get over with the storyline. And it's kind of a repetition at this point where he will make a storyline of a book too rushed that you can't seem to enjoy it at times. My evidence to prove this is, "A jolt of fear hit him. Evanlyn! What had become or her?" this shows that all of the sudden he can remember Evanlyn and in the paragraph before it he doesn't quite remember much. "But there was no memory there. Nothing but a blank wall that defied all his efforts to pierce it." this is the paragraph before it, now I know that at times a surge of memory can come to you, but he woke up from a nap, has no idea where he is and you'd think that he would try to figure out what happened to him first. But besides that I think John Flanagan had thought of something fresh for a storyline that the good old "Good guy fights all the bad guys and saves everyone."

The Theme of Ranger's Apprentice Icebound Land

In "Ranger's Apprentice Icebound Land" by John Flanagan there is a lot of friendships that begin to grow throughout the book or grow from the book before. And I think that the theme of this book is "Great friends will stick by you" and the reason why I think this is mainly because of Evanlyn and Will. They had been traded to become slaves and then splitter up because of their friendship. The slave owners saw they were friends and decided to break them up and without each other's supervision they wouldn't know what the others were doing. Will had became so sore from the work he was doing as a slave that the other slaves gave him warmweed to make him feel better. As soon as Evanlyn found out she was saddened because she thought she lost a friend. Erak had helped her stop his addiction by slowing down his doses and when he was finally snapped out of the warmweed she had become so happy she cried. The evidence to support is, "And, saying it, he wondered why her eyes had filled, and why her shoulders were shaking as tear after tear spilled uncontrollably down her cheeks. After all, he couldn't really see that there was anything to cry about." this is important because of how Evanlyn had become so drawn away from him thinking she lost a friend. Once will snapped out of his addiction she cried from joy knowing her friend was back. This theme also goes for Halt and Horace because of their friendship that grows from the same goal they have, saving Will and Evanlyn. They had gone through facing a power hungry warrior and in the end they felt accomplished knowing they were one step quick to getting Will and Evanlyn. The evidence to support this is, "'Good,' said Horace, and there was a world of satisfaction in the single word. Together, they turned their backs on the memory of Deparnieux. They urged their horses forward and the little cavalcade moved off, Tug following close behind the two riders. 'Let's go and find Will,' said Halt" this is important because it is reminded of their shared goal that sprouts this friendship and throughout the journey of finding Will, they stuck by through thick and thin problems and went straight ahead, that is why the theme is Great Friends will Stick By You

"Remember; we can hear the bands we want to hear" CM Punk. This means ignore people who bring you down and listen to the things that will make you happy. And I feel that I have had people who would try to bring me down and tell me things I rather not hear. But I listen to the things I want to hear to help me on my own.

Quarter 2 Goals

Welcome back to my inconsistency of writing blogs in the Whole Blogging Show, I really need to incorporate the meaning for the name of this blog site.

Anyway, I want to talk about my goal for quarter 2, and yeah, my goals are pretty basic like others, but unlike some people I actually want to put the work into these goals. Like that old saying goes, "You can talk the talk, but you can't walk the walk" and I want to show that I can walk the walk. So, in order to do that I need to talk the talk for some goals.

My first goal is pretty much the same as some of the others you'll read about, wanting 3's and 4's. Though I want that, I want it to be better. I want to show that someone like me who came from the bottom, doing really bad in 6th grade, could be someone better than that, I feel that I have so much things that I can do great, do critical success in, but I can't do that unless I put a work ethic into it. Doing this can get me somewhere, I could finally be in Mrs. Larson's class and prove everyone who doubted me wrong. I could get into a great high school leading to a great college. But behind all of that, I need to try, because trying can get you noticed and somewhere. That is why I want to get 3's and 4's.

My second goal was mentioned in the paragraph above, being in Mrs. Larson's class. Now the reason why I know I most likely was not in it in 7th grade was because of my ability to work in 6th grade. I didn't really care about how I did in 6th and just gave up. Later going into 7th, my English Teacher, Ms. Gardner had saw how I was doing and had a talk with me. She felt that I had so much more potential that I had that I had not shown and she wanted to be show it because it could get me great benefits like being in Mrs. Larson's class. At first I thought to myself "why would I want to be in there?" Later around this time of the year two students in my class were moved up to her class and I noticed later when I talked to them how different they spoke with their new vocabulary and how they were 2 weeks ahead of our class learnings. Now that is what convinced me, I always been the guy who wants to be ahead, who wants to be advanced and with that I improved my grades for the better. I was becoming a major honor roll student with a majority of A's and becoming a constant participant in my classes. All of this and I still wasn't called up for Mrs. Larson's class, I wasn't called up to my accelerate| math class and I felt cheated out. I felt that I was working just as hard as the two students who got moved up to the class. I asked my Ms. Gardner why I wasn't moved up even though I put up more work ethics in my class and she said one, "They were too full." And two, "You need an A and maintain that A to be in her class." I'll admit that I wasn't that best at having an in Language Arts, but I did feel that I was doing good enough where I could be inserted in her class. End of the year came by and nothing happened. Now with this school year I came in with a different perspective, I wasn't looking at the decelerated English Language Arts, I was looking at the next step to her class, and I feel that this year is going to be the year.

So yeah, I know that this isn't much, but these are my goal for the year, and unlike other people I wanted my goal to have a meaning and soon to be accomplished goal for this quarter.

Rumors About HMS's Principal

The principal needs some principles! Early 2014 at Heritage Middle School our students have experienced something quite unusual. The loss of their principal, Mrs. LaSalle. Rumors about Mrs. LaSalle had gone on all over HMS and District 100 leaving schools to wonder what would happen to the school, staff and students, but mainly what had happened to Mrs. LaSalle. She was unexpectedly fired and students, faculty, everyone is to wonder why she had disappeared.
After this leaving, people began rumors on her leaving. One of the most talked about rumors is her stealing money from the school to use for her own needs. The backup towards this that people mentioned  that the school was having multiple fundraisers and not having enough money to keep other things going, such as sports, clubs, and programs that included teachers and students and a lot of teachers had also left that year. This could be from not having a salary they would want since money could have been taken that year cutting their pays down.
People hear about these rumors and have to think about what Mrs. LaSalle had done for the school earlier in the year which would lead to this. How the principal of HMS who was seen as someone you look up to could change your thoughts just like that. Stealing money from a school could be a bad image for the school and staff. These rumors have indeed put a bad image on Mrs. LaSalle then again, you can hear rumors, but you can't know them.

Comparing the Outsiders Movie and Book

How do your visualization match up to the movie images?
Well, I felt that the movie was a lot like the book, it included almost all of the major parts of the book in the movie including the rumble. Unlike other books to movies this one had a good director making sure that the movie had the aspects of the book even including some of the narrations of Ponyboy in the book. Just like I imagined all the major parts and characters are like how I would want to be like.

Think about how the movie is similar/different?
I think the movie is very similar to the book because like I said it has almost all the major parts and characters right. But the few things that is kind of strange for me is seeing Johnny, who is supposed to be older than Ponyboy, looks like he is a ten year old. It was really weird for me to see that and also see Dally have brown hair considering in the book he is a blonde. But the good thing about the book to the movie is that, yes it's practically four chapters in the movie in the beginning, but it pretty much shows how the characters are and their descriptions without even having Ponyboy talk about them.

In the end though I can say I like the book rather than the movie because one, everyone says that and two, there is always something about the book that no matter what you just can't find in a movie.

The Ruins of Gorlan Comparision

Hey guys, The Whole Blogging Show here and I want to talk about the book I am reading called the Ruins of Gorlan and I feel that this book reminds me a lot of Harry Potter, here's the reason why.

In the beginning of the book for Harry Potter you'll see Harry be put in one of the houses having the four, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Gryffindor each class has its different meaning, while the Ruin of Gorlan you have a Cooking class, Scribemasters, CraftMasters, Horse School, and Battle school. These different classes are for the kids choices in this case and the main character, Will wants to be put in Battle school but instead goes to Rangers school which is a special class almost everyone was nervous about. Will is rejected by Horse and Battle school leading to the Ranger's Apprentice because he is too small, it says, "'I'm afraid he's too small, my lord,' he said. Will felt a cold hand clutch his heart" (28). Like Harry Potter, people doubted him for his looks just like Will. There's also the fact that his friends are kind of like Harry's friend Hermonie and cousin Dudley. Horace who is like Dudley is described in the book is, "Horace was big for his age and a natural athlete." Now Dudley who is more chubby rather athletic was big for his age just like Horace. And the girl who is like Hermonie who is very smart is Alyss who is described as, "He knew that the tall, graceful girl had already been promised a place as an apprentice by a laugh Pauline head of a castle Redmont's Diplomatic Service."  Hermonie who was stuck-up to her teachers to be let in certain classes is a lot like Alyss.

That's why I think the Ruins of Gorlan is a lot like Harry Potter.

Living an Unknown Mexican Life

Hello guys, TWBS here talking about my Heritage and I can tell you right now, I have a a lot to learn about and hopefully you guys can tell me about yours in the process too!

I am not really knowledgable about my Heritage, like the only thing I really know is some songs, food, and holidays. Wow, I actually do have a lot things. I just can't really explain a lot about it. There is this thing though that on Christmas Day my mom will make a Christmas Circle decoration with a ring of tamales. She makes this every year and I don't have knowledge of this circle of tamales but my mom always does it for Christmas so it must mean something for . Also when there is a birthday we will sing this song in Spanish, like the tamale, I don't know what it means, but I know it is mainly sung on birthdays and my brother is really cheesy when it comes to the song since he brings out a radio just to put the song on. For Holidays we have one called children's day, it is basically a holiday celebrated for the new generation and what they do to help the older generation in chores or daily needs, the holidays is meant for the kids to have fun for the day. There is also Mexican Independence day which is kind of self-explanatory, like the fourth of July it is celebrated when had won Independence from Spain gaining control of the south land of North America. But, as I said before I don't know a lot about my country, these are the main thing I can name off the top of my head and it's pretty funny because I can ask my mom or dad and they tell me to google it and Google won't tell me as much unlike people who could tell me that actually are from Mexico, but yeah, that is some stuff about my Mexican Heritage.

The Outsider's Inside Layer (Theme)

Hey y'all this is the Whole Blogging Show where I'll review books and you'll listen!
This week I will be talking about the book "The Outsiders" and what I believe the theme is for the book.

Throughout the book you see many changes for the characters like Darry, Johnny, and Ponyboy and I believe that book's theme is friends can change who you are and how you'll act in life. The claim for this is when Johnny and Ponyboy were at the church and didn't really have anything to support them when they were on the run from the cops. They didn't have any entertainment and when did, it was a book. Ponyboy had read this book aloud at times to Johnny called "Gone with the Wind" and Johnny never really understood it, but when Ponyboy said the poem Johnny questioned it and sort of understood what it meant. This was a turning point for Johnny because the poem meant something to him. It says, "'You know,' Johnny said slowly, 'I never noticed colors and clouds and stuff until you kept reminding me about them. It seems like the never there before.' he thought for a minute. 'Your family sure is funny.'" This shows how he had changed. Johnny was really quiet and at the point he was more comfortable with talking later having him save a bunch of kids, sure he had died, but he died a changed man and hero. The death of Johnny had changed Ponyboy due to Pony not wanting to think he was dead, but after all of it stayed strong and moved on, he wanted to be better. Darry had also told him not to let one death keep him down showing Pony to have the change in his life to make him stronger and be a positive person. The evidence to support this is, "...But schoolwork's not the point. You're  living in a vacuum, Pony, and you're going to have to cut it out. Johnny and Dallas were our buddies, too, but you don't stop living because you lose someone." And then when Pony got the Gone in the Wind book he was reminded about the poem he read to Johnny. Johnny returned that book to Pony want him to tell Dally, but Dally was no longer, but he didn't think of that, he thought of the kids who were of wrong streets of the cities. My evidence to support this is long but here it is, "Suddenly it wasn't only a personal thing to me. I could picture hundreds and hundreds of boys living on the wrong sides of cities, bots with black eyes who jumped at their own shadows. Hundreds of boys who maybe watched sunsets and look at stars and ached for something better. I could see boys going down under street lights because they were mean and tough and hated the world, and it was too late to tell them that there was still good in it, and they wouldn't believe you if you did. Ain't was too vast a problem to be just a personal thing. Thee should be some help, someone should tell their side of the story, and maybe people would undertone then and wouldn't be so quick to judge a boy by the amount of hair oil he wore. It was important to me. I picked up the phone book and called my English teacher." This shows how he thought of Johnny as the boy and he didn't want people to judge the people like that. Leading to write the book The Outsiders, which was about people who were judged as someone different, which mainly consisted of how Johnny was judged. But Johnny had changed and Pony had changed because of a stronger friendship. That is why it's the theme of this book.

Dark and Darker

I felt as if the book is getting more and more dark. I mean come on, Johnny killed someone and the description for how he did it was just scarring me. It said, "A dark pool was growing for him.." Geez! And to the Johnny was the one who wouldn't "hurt" a fly leading to him murdering a soc. I don't mean to sound crazy, but I'd do it too, but I am not him so I would obviously not do it making him crazy not me! Another thing, I think Darry is going to lose it, he's probably angry at him since he was angry when he would lecture Ponyboy for instance when snapped at him slapping him across the face. It said, "I exploded. 'You don't yell at him!' I shouted. Darry wheel around and slapped me so hard that it knocked me against the door." It also mentions, "Darry scream, 'Ponyboy, I didn't mean to!' but I was at the lot by then and pretended I couldn't hear." Just think what will happen now, he might not be sorry anymore! In short Ponyboy and Johnny are going to be electrifying people in the news and Darry will grow with anger with rage at Ponyboy and Soda!
